Drunk On Love

A few weeks ago before the never ending snowstorms, I decided to get back out there and shoot an outfit post that didn’t involve my backyard. To my surprise, it was pretty painless! I started resorting to areas three feet away from my home so my husband and I wouldn’t wouldn’t argue, but we saw a glimmer of hope this day that might turn things around.

You see, I have a very hard time focusing at the task at hand during outfit shoots and I constantly worry that everyone is staring at me. The result is probably the worst pictures ever and a waste of 30 minutes, not to mention a grumpy photographer aka husband. I’ve read that many bloggers have these marital spats when the husband is her partner in crime and sometimes I wish I had a #fblogger BFF so we could just frolic all day and snap pics. But I have to say, there is no one else in the whole world that can make me smile like my husband can. And although it takes countless impressions of my father around the dinner table and about 200 photos, we usually find success.

Today is my husband’s birthday and I wanted to take this time to thank him for all he’s done. I want to thank him for leaving the house on a Sunday to be my photographer when all he wants to do is watch football. I want to thank him for being patient as I build my confidence. And I want to thank him for his constant support as I develop this blog.

I love you. xx

Boyfriend Jeans and Prada

No, it’s not a Prado, it’s a Prada. And it’s not a knock-off, but it’s not real! In case you’re new to the blog, I like to pretend. Every fashion post, I include an illustration of something I’m lusting. This was my solution to staying in the fashion blogger game without going broke! I mean I’m all about the high-low fashion trend, but with the wedding debt I’m living the low-low trend…

My recent purchase was a pair of Boyfriend jeans, so that I wasn’t living in my overalls every weekend. You can’t get away with wearing them to the office, but you can go from really casual to semi-casual to just casual with this item. Take a look!

Shop this outfit: Boyfriend jeans from Zara (no surprise here), Cardigan from TJ Maxx, Jacket from Comptoir des Cotonnier (also seen here), Booties from Aldo, Blazer from my mom’s closet - I think it’s from Talbots. Prada clutch I wish I owned.

Pet Talk in Plaid

Why do you always have an amazing hair day right before you’re about to get a haircut? That’s what happened to me on the day we shot this outfit. It looks great, right? We took these photos hours before I went to Muze Salon to dye my hair purple! I’ll share pictures soon. I promise.

Today’s imaginary accessory is a French bulldog! I’ve never had a dog…never really had a pet unless you count a goldfish. I did have a gerbil for a brief period when I was eight, but I don’t talk about that time in my life. Let’s just say I wasn’t ready for the responsibility.

But honestly, I think I’m ready for a dog. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do after you get married and before you have kids? I can just see myself now, in my little Zara suit and penny loafers, walking my dog in Prospect Park. I would finally have an excuse to talk to neighbors because they would all fawn over my dog. I would meet all sorts of interesting people thanks to our common love of furry four-legged friends and I say love, but really I would only love my dog and not others if I’m being honest. I don’t even know how much dogs cost! But if you’re reading this, Jason, I want a dog.

Love is All You Need

Yes, I have purple hair and yes, I’m still in love with these overalls. It’s officially Fall and I’m taking this look to the other side of the tracks. Ankle boots and an imaginary Cartier Love bracelet is exactly what I need to pull off rough and tough chic. I don’t think I’ll ever have the extra paper to spend on this beautiful piece of jewelry, but I will put this on my Christmas list from now until the end of time.
