A New Look for 2015

I've had a bit of writer's block lately hence the lack of posts. At first, I thought about sharing New Year's resolutions, which by the way, I feel like no one is making this year. Then, I thought about unleashing all of my new knowledge on nutrition thanks to this convincing documentary "Fed Up" (if you haven't watched yet, I highly recommend). And I've also had ways to combat stress on my mind - not surprising. As usual, my head is all over the place. So, I thought I might share a few updates to my blog!

1. The Home button that used to take you to interior design inspo now leads you to the homepage. It took me awhile, right? I've been trying to figure out how to make my header clickable, but I just can't figure it out, so I give up.

2. I've added a Shop button to the top navigation bar. Here, you'll see all of the fashion items I'm coveting. I really, really need to curb my shopping addiction, so I thought this would be a good way for me to share what I'm obsessing over lately without going broke.

3. I know I've been uploading mostly fashion and food content, but I'm working on some really fun beauty posts and I can't wait to share.

4. This is not an update yet, but could be. I'm thinking about launching a newsletter and would love to hear if you'd subscribe if this was an option. Every time a new blog post is added, you'd receive an email with a special note from me plus other cool content. What do you think? Share in the comments or simply like this post since I know most of you aren't talkers :)

So, that's it! I leave you with this very casual and cozy look. The husband and I took a field trip to the Natural History Museum and it was a mad house! Note to self and all of you - never go on the last day of the year. We did, however, find a secret entrance on Columbus and a cute area to snap some pics!

No More Shoe Drama

I attended a brainstorm at work the other day and I was asked to write down my biggest fashion pet peeves during Fall/Winter (yes - this is my life) and you wanna know my answer? SHOES! I never have the right pair for the outfit I want to wear. It's not like the Summer where I can throw on a wedge and call it a day. This is a huge issue for me and because of this, I'm a) perpetually late for work and b) blowing my money on shoes that only fit with one specific look in mind instead of buying a versatile pair that goes with everything. And you would think after how many seasons of careless shoe sprees, I would get it together, but sure enough I fail.

Not this season! I refuse - it's not going to happen. 2014 will be the year of the perfect Fall/Winter shoe collection that will take me through 2015 and beyond and the hunt is already in full swing. Where am I looking you ask? Banana Republic. I hate to admit this, but this used to be a store I would walk into and immediately walk out of once I realized it wasn't J. Crew. But their Instagram campaign got me - I've suddenly seen my favorite fashion bloggers donning effortlessly cool ensembles styled by Banana and it made really want to shop there. It worked! The new creative direction of Marissa Webb also played a role I'm sure.

Check out a few shoes I have my eye on - not only are they super cute but they're functional and function matters in the Fall - trust me.
