Spring Denim and Stress-Free Living

Finally, it's Friday! This week has been ridiculously busy and involved LOTS of lists. The only way I can make it through a work day without my head popping off is with my detailed To Do lists. First, I make boxes to the left of the task, then I highlight things I MUST get done that day and finally, I number those items in order of importance. The greatest accomplishment is to check those boxes and if I started something, but can't finish, I make a dash. I highly recommend this approach.

Needless to say, I took today off. I literally wouldn't be able to do my job successfully, be the best wife and take care of my health without days like this - especially in New York City. This year marks ten years living here and every day I feel like I'm moving faster than the day before. I don't know if this is normal, but it's freaking me out a little and the fact that I've adapted to this lifestyle is really mind-blowing. So today, I'm going to slow down, enjoy Spring and shut my brain off.

Have a good weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all my mamas!

Outfits on Repeat

You know those times when you put something on and you're so into the outfit that you try and get away with wearing it all weekend? You're witnessing that moment for me. I'm a big fan of this move and have been since high school. As long as your plans don't involve the same people and the clothes are clean, re-wear it up, my friends!

Feeling Knotty - Get It?!

cmj_feelingknotty_1.jpg

You guys! I know it’s been a while, but I have a few things to share:

1. I was on a mission to cut my hair last week and A) I don’t like now and B) I’m deeply distraught because I want my hair to look like it does in these pics. Why do I make such bad decisions?!

2. I’m literally obsessed with this white t-shirt and I keep buying it instead of washing it. Again, what is wrong with me? #issues

3. I found these sunglasses at the cutest shop in Athens, Georgia and pretty much every four-year-old in Park Slope has the same pair. Now what.

4. I almost bought a pair of Vans, but instead stumbled upon these rad Timberland sneakers. That’s correct, I said Timberland. Impressive.

5. Zara had the biggest sale ever and I snagged this skirt. As I do with all Zara items, I completely messed up the laundering situation (reason = tag…) and it shrunk. How sad, right?

Boyfriend Jeans and Prada

No, it’s not a Prado, it’s a Prada. And it’s not a knock-off, but it’s not real! In case you’re new to the blog, I like to pretend. Every fashion post, I include an illustration of something I’m lusting. This was my solution to staying in the fashion blogger game without going broke! I mean I’m all about the high-low fashion trend, but with the wedding debt I’m living the low-low trend…

My recent purchase was a pair of Boyfriend jeans, so that I wasn’t living in my overalls every weekend. You can’t get away with wearing them to the office, but you can go from really casual to semi-casual to just casual with this item. Take a look!

Shop this outfit: Boyfriend jeans from Zara (no surprise here), Cardigan from TJ Maxx, Jacket from Comptoir des Cotonnier (also seen here), Booties from Aldo, Blazer from my mom’s closet - I think it’s from Talbots. Prada clutch I wish I owned.
